Some goings on.

Life has been relatively normal here. There is the usual goings on at work, the normally boring after work slouchfest, and the occasional moment of panic and stress.
I've had a few problems with the DMV, but they should be all sorted out now. For some reason they thought there were two r in my middle name, which there is not, but they quickly and easily fixed it for me when I went in to get a replacement license. Oh, yeah, which Katana thought would be an excellent item to chew on. he somehow got a hold of my wallet and completely shredded that and my license, but didn't touch any of the other items in the wallet. Figures he destroys the one item that costs money ($26.50) to replace.

I've gone on a lot of hikes recently since i have been in town so damn often due to stupid shit. I don't have a lot of good pictures, but here are a few of the guys:

Attempted Obligatory

38lbs Hokkaido Ken on the left, 23lbs Shiba Inu on the right. (Yeah Conker is a bit skinny at the moment.)

I have introduced Katana to the backpack. Unfortunately, I did not think to video his first few steps with the pack, it was hilarious. I put it on him then headed out. He started to walk then stood stock still and watched me leave. Slowly, he began to scream... He did not realize that he was still able to walk, even with the slight weight of the pack pressing down on his shoulders (It had two small water bottles in it.) I stopped and called Katana in a cheerful you-are-an-idiot-get-your-ass-over-here voice, and he slowly began to pad over to me. It took him about 1/4 of a mile to figure out that the pack was fine and he could still move normally, and now he loves to wear it.

Yes, Katana is wearing The Badass. (Conker's collar.) That is due to me strongly suspecting Conker of having a partially collapsed trachea. He cannot wear a collar without hacking, and walking him on one is a complete hackfest. So Conker only wears his ID chain (cause he is an idiot and gets out of the fence somewhat regularly) and a harness, no more collars. The Badass is officially Katana's collar now.

I gave my bronco a summer haircut.

It looks tacky from certain angles, totally awesome from others, and is amazing to drive without the top on. I love it.

And lastly...
Tyto has gone back to the breeder. His fear problems were too much for me, I could not easily handle it. He absolutely hated my truck so I could not take him to a quiet park to do distance work since riding in the truck would get him so wound up he wouldn't settle down until long after we got home. He flipped his shit when I had people over to butcher and barbecue the demons, er, goats. He threw himself against the fence and shit and pissed all over himself, and when I put him in his crate inside, he shit and pissed all over that and my RV as well. Nobody said a word to him. The second time was a repeat of the first, but nobody even went inside. I couldn't walk him anywhere either since I live on one of those sketchy rural roads with no shoulder, passing cars would send him fleeing if he could, and he'd met my landlady once in the driveway and would lock up if we went anywhere near it after that.
I felt a change of environment is what he needed, so I sent him back.

Big Red

This is my new-used vehicle. It's a '91 Ford Bronco. I call it Big Red. For obvious reasons.

I've been wanting to buy a tuck for a while, and when my Jeep was totaled, I was given the pefect opportunity to get one. Other driver's insurance gave me a very good price on it. I began the search.

While I was looking for a truck, I began to search for Broncos as well. I've always liked Broncos, and they were made by my favorite truck builder. Out of all the trucks I looked at, the one I liked best just happened to be a Bronco.

I look ridiculous driving it (little young woman in a bigass truck). It's old. It's jarring. It's loud. It has a lot of miles on it. The seats are ripped. The doors don't lock. But it handles well, runs good, is very clean, has a lift and 33's, and is a blast to drive.

I love my Big Red Bronco.

Alright lets get back to this blogging business

So! It's been a while. A good long while. I've had a lot of stuff happen in the past months, some good, some bad. Some downright stupid.
First, I went to Arizona for December. The dogs all came and all had a ton of fun!

Katana turned 1 year old. He is still a complete moron.
He also got bit by a necrotizing deathtick.

On his crotch. (It's healed now.)

I got a bunch of rabbits.
Aspen

Birch

King

Antonio

Cedar

Cypress

Topo

They are the beginnings of my attempt at breeding rabbits for meat. The first three are Californians, the black blue-eyed rabbit is a mutt of some sort, and the last three are New Zealand crosses. They will be ready to breed in a few months.

I also got some goats.
They are for eating.

Then, the other day...

My Jeep was totaled. Doesn't look like it should be totaled, but it was. It had some frame damage that was not evident until it was taken apart. Idiot driver's insurance (who was making a very illegal 3-point turn in the middle of the highway on a BLIND CORNER) paid me a good amount for it though, so I came out on top.

Taking a break.

Don't know when I'll be back. I'm quitting most of the internet for a while.

Scarface

This thing is now as big as Conker. He's earned the nickname "Scarface" due to how often he's whacked his head into things and cut himself. Also, a few of those nicks came from the Girls when he got a bit too pushy-in-their-faces and they told him to back off... He's much better about that now though, and usually a raised lip is all he needs to get the message.

Anywho, he's doing pretty good, gets along with the Girls and Conker well. He still likes to play "Catch me if you can!" if he's got something in his mouth, which is a HUGE no no since most of the time if he's got something that is not a toy or chew, he probably shouldn't have it, and eating it could be dangerous (fatal) which is what he usually tries to do with things he shouldn't have.

He still screams when I walk off, which is also a huge no no. Unless I throw him a meaty bone or a handful of small food items that he can forage for, but I'd really like to be able to leave without doing that.

Busy

Been really busy with all sorts of crap. Don't have much time for blogging.

Penelope eats some alfalfa hay while I prepare her for the morning milking.

"They" redid the road, have been for a while, and finally finished it. Don't know why, the old was was fine.

Yellow watermelon. YELLOW watermelon! It's fanfuckingtastic.

Conker has discovered a large pile of pillows in the RV. He now DEMANDS that he sleep on them at night.

The Derp asks to be let in. I usually oblige.

Today on the farm we dug up some oddities.

Large scrotal sacs!
(Not actually a scrotum.)

After work, since my Jeep is out of commission right now, I rode my bike to town to get some things.

This is the True Purpose of rear bicycle baskets.

After that I made up a veggie grind for the dogs. It consists of: Carrots, cucumbers, kale, chard, squash, a dash of cantaloup, and some white rice. Everything except the rice is from the farm.

This is Katana's dinner.
A chicken back, rice, egg, veggie grind, small bit of turkey liver, half turkey heart and gizzard.

Katana has had a couple digestive disturbances. He was eating Taste of the Wild when I got him but developed some problems with it, so I switched him to rice and turkey misc for a few days, then added in some other ingredients one by one. So far he is doing much much better (digestive wise) on whole/raw foods, so, like Conker, he gets to stay on them.

The other dogs are currently eating some old EVO (pre-recall) I had in my chest freezer before the move.

Juneau escaped the fence YET AGAIN so she gets to stay on her chain until I build a new fence. I'm not going to bother trying to mod the old one, I didn't do that great of a job on it and I don't see the point in dumping money into something I'm going to replace soon anyways.
The only problem with that is she barks while on the chain in the morning...

Man, Labor Day in a small town sucks. Since I work on a farm, there are no "holidays" so I forgot about Labor Day since I worked today. When I went into GP to do stuff, everything was closed. Also, I think it is a silly holiday, and don't celebrate it anyways. (I think this of almost all American holidays.)

So, instead of doing things like getting groceries and buying a new poop scooper (I broke my old one), I took Conker and Katana on another short hike.

Conker shows Katana how a Man Dog takes a piss. Katana stands with all four feet on the ground while peeing, and sometimes it hits his front feet. I really really hope he grows out of that and starts hiking his leg soon...

Katana had a very brief off-leash hike since he decided to play "Catch me if you can!" and I don't do that shit. So I took off running in the other direction and got his attention and grabbed him when he got close enough and leashed him for the rest of the hike.

Conker retained his off-leash privileges, as he has for a long long time. He is only leashed when other people, dogs, or horses are on the trails, out of politeness.

I used this as an opportunity to teach Katana some leash manners. he was very unruly on-leash, but quickly grasped the concept of heeling that he was a pro in about five minutes!

Today's hike was very short since I wasn't having the greatest day due to everything being closed and my Jeep deciding to act really strange in the trailhead parking lot. And on the way home. I don't know what it's issue is, and I really hope it's easily fixable without me having to spend a lot of money on it.
